Matt+Lexi have been engaged for nearly three years. I shot their proposal in Akron, their engagement session in North Carolina and was pleased as punch to be able to shoot their elopement in Colorado. When Matt+Lexi told me they wanted a snowy mountain elopement I was obviously game. They found some amazing locations but ultimately decided on Sapphire Point in Breckenridge. This town was the epitome of a Hallmark movie; mom and pop coffee shops, an outdoor crepe stand, and the cutest places to stay. The day before their I do’s we met up for coffee after they got their marriage license and had a fun little shoot before we set off exploring the town and mountains for where we wanted to do their photos. I being the directionally challenged gal that I am missed like four turns and found the cutest side street. They had wanted to do their first look in the town but I was concerned with traffic. I snapped a phone pic to show them and we all agreed this was the best area. We went to Sapphire Point next and got to have a little moment of where their tomorrows were starting. I went off on my own for a bit and found the best spot to have more bridal portraits. The problem with stupid, beautiful scenery like Colorado is narrowing down where to take photos. It’s a beautiful problem to have and I’m thankful they were such troopers with my manic excitement for all the snow capped mountains and gorgeous blue skies! From their first look by a school where all the kiddos were yelling out that there was a bride, to seeing both their families for the first time at their ceremony, to running around the town with both their best friends and finally a night cap with everyone at their airbnb and a private chef making dinner. It was a loved up, relaxed day and it stirred the wanderlust in my heart for more moments like these.
